Flatland Shooter
After six months of deteriorating quality of life as well as an inability to compete, the doctors decided a little slicing and dicing were in order. The past week and a half consisted of open heart surgery (aortic valve replacement), eight days in the hospital and now a few days home. Now that the pain meds are wearing off, I'm feeling better than I have for months. Strength is coming back every day. Prior to surgery, I explained to the surgeon that my passion is USPSA competition and I needed to be up and running for the Double Tap Championship in June. As a fellow shooter (the guy loves his Kimbers) he understood fully. Due to lots of practice and matches on their part, my shooting partners have passed me by. Just wanted to let them know, THE OLD MAN'S BACK. The surgeon's comment? "Just go kick their butts". Don't need no stinking second opinion. Joe L
That's great! Recovery is good, and any bad habits will be easier to re-train in to better ones. I bet you become a quicker competitor than you were before surgery much quicker than you might think. Joe

sidnal
Bill: I'm glad that you have been doing better. I have been planning to give you a call one of these days to figure out what's going on. I'll thouroughly enjoy a sound ass-whoopin if it is from you! Get stronger and come shoot with us. Take Care, Landis
Flatland Shooter
Thanks Sarge. Good advice. Landis, got that ass-whooping on my bucket list. I'll have plenty of time to practice now that my plans to be an AARP swimsuit model are dashed. Thanks. Bill
