DarthMuffin
The link for the multigun rules on uspsa's site goes to the 2012 addendum (not the full 2011 rules like it says), so I'm having trouble looking this up. In a multigun match, is it OK to "dump" a round while moving? Under handgun rules 10.4.6 this would be a DQ. For example, if I loaded an extra slug but hit the target with my first one. Is it OK to point the gun downrange, not at a target, and dump the spare slug while moving to the next (non-slug) target? Or similarly, if I just finished an array and know that I have one shell left it may be quicker to dump that one downrange while on the run and go to slide lock before putting it in the bucket and transitioning to the next gun. Classic_jon
I would say that if you think that might be an issue, just rack the slug out and move on. :-) Past that I would say to contact a USPSA rep, AC etc and have them answer that question as I know they are changing some of the mutigun rules at this time and they should be able to get you the "best and most up to date" answer of how it is now and how it will be in the near future. May be OK at many other outlaw matches but not all, check the rules first to prevent the long unhappy trip home. Doug
gose
No exception to 8.5.1 in the multigun rules either... Rack it out, or shoot it at the last target before you start moving. Edited March 15, 2012 by gose
MarkCO
While I agree with Doug and gose on the rules, it was specifically allowed in numerous cases at the USPSA nationals. Edited March 15, 2012 by MarkCO
Lead-Head
Shooting while moving is allowed. Missing is also allowed while moving, or in my case whle standing still. The question is about the argument that occurs after the round is "burned" down range. If it is shot in the direction of the target, who is to say it was intentionally wasted and not in an attempt to hit the target, even if it was obviously a weak attempt? I guess the answer is the RO, but it can be a hard call. I burn shotgun rounds all the time, admittedly at outlaw matches. Sometimes my slugs hit the dirt so far from the target you might accuuse me of not even trying, I wish it was the case.
