Cotys
I learned a few things while loading 300 Blackout. Most of this was from feedback on the forum and previous posts. I thought I would put it all in one post for those setting up in the future. XL-650 I used my 2.23 / 5.56 setup .223 powder funnel, has been very accurate with A1680 (I’ve seen where some use 7.62x39 or the 30 cal carbine powder funnel) Hornady ACC 300 BLK dies (Had to put lock nut below the tool head) Remington 300 ACC BLK brass with primers pre-installed (sealed and crimped primers) Lake City 5.56 Brass cut down to 300 ACC BLK Problems I encountered Problem: Shells were frequently falling in the case feed tube upside down when dropping from the case feeder. Fix: Slide the silver tab on the case feeder out about a 1/2 inch (Picture below) Problem: Brass falling to quickly onto the shell locator and not aligning in the shell locator Fix: Reversed the case insert slide as if loading pistol loads. The 300 BLK is quite a bit shorter than the 5.56. (Picture below) Subsonic load (Per ACC’s recommendation on their web site) 220 grain Sierra Match King 11.2 grains of A1680 powder OAL 2.120” Case length is 1.368 +0.000 -0.020 Remington 7.5 primers Edited March 12, 2012 by Cotys
JoshF
Thanks for the information Cotys. This should come in handy for me as I'll have an almost identical setup. Question though, which case feeder plate are you using?

navybowhunter
Great info, I'm about to pull the trigger on loading .300AAC on my 650. Any particular reason you primed manually?
jmorris
The thread was dormant for over two years before your post and the OP hasn't posted anything since last October. In any case I don't see where he states that he primed manually. Looks like he bought pre primed brass from Remington as I don't know anyone that crimps primer pockets after they prime reloading.
