Sarge
With the first issue try loosening the die and pull the handle and run a piece of brass up into the die and then tighten the die. This will sort of align the die with the press. The second issue I would call Dillon. I have not had this type of problem with mine so I can't help . Skydiver
Welcome to the forum. By any chance, are you using Lee dies instead of Dillon dies? The Lee die's mouth seems to be narrower with less taper. This makes it less forgiving for cases coming in.
Csiedmond1
Welcome to the party!!! . I've had this happen on mine and it seemed the reason was from the brass "wiggling" due the speed at which I was punching them out, I slowed down one notch and fixed the problem... Solid bench and press mounting can help with this issue too. Everything you can do to keep the press smooth and stable will greatly improve performance. Linear Thinker
Can we see a picture? I've only seen a die hitting the side of an empty case when I used a wrong shellplate or a wrong locator button.
wes777
make sure that when the handle is all of the way forward the plastic case feeder is touching the shellplate. you may have to adjust the rod up a little.
Turboprop
Answer for the case feeder issue:When plate stalls does the little black center plate still turn? If it does snug the bolts down, just enough to make the plate turn. It's designed to slip so you don't burn the motor up if/when something jams the plate. Turboprop
I spray my brass down with a dry Teflon lube and mix it up prior to loading. It really helps it run smooth through the 650.
