ts1911
I sent this pistol to Virgil Tripp with reliability issues. Needless to say, it is now running PERFECT. After another 200 rounds I broke it down to clean. Although I have not had any problems since the trip to Tripp,,,HA,,,I noticed this problem with the feed ramp. Or maybe not a problem, I dont know is the nick on the right side something to worry about? you can feel it with your finger. what do all of you think. Will this affect feeding? will it get worse? Or is it a non-issue.

kimberacp
the path of the bullet entering the chamber doesnt even go near that nick. just shoot it.
392heminut
I agree, if it's feeding okay then just shoot it.
BigGabe
I don't think you have a thing to worry about. If there is no reliability issues shoot the heck out of it.

jarozzy
If Virgil welded and re-cut the feed ramp, I would give him a call. They will stand behind their work. Also he will give you the best advice on if it will be an issue in the future or not.

You lose nothing except a couple minute to just check with the smith...so you'll never have to worry again

Dillon b
To me it just looks like a spot that the weld didnt penetrate properly, but i dont think that it should cause any issues over time.
TonyT
It's a cosmetic flaw which should not influence feeding since the bullet nose never sees it.
BoldasLions
Virgil Tripp is the man, he has some of the greatest work out there period. The bullet will never touch that. Let some carbon build up on the feed lip, then check where the nose of the bullet is touching. IF it touches there, that's serious mag, extractor, and breech face problems. Pete Whyte
Send it back and have the spot re-welded properly.
shooter57
I'd call tripp and see what he says and have him note it on their record if it becomes a problem later they will know it was already done when you got the gun back.
