Shooting the games for so many years, its been cool to watch thing Develop. most recently the three gun gear.

If a person talks to industry insiders for high volume firearms-S&W and Rem. we find out that competitors account for 2% to 5% of total sales.

I remember with Sportsman's Team Challenge in the early 90s if you wanted a good rifle stock you had to spend $300 to $500 a few year later close to the same stock could be had for $150. you can get all kinds of Ruger 10-22 upgrades, most of the 10-22 stuff for the gun was driven off of STC

Now I have been shooting Three gun -Tac Opt-

Vortex has a scope in development that Jerry M has had in his hands for several months, and the next prototypes are sliding out as production is making ready. Three Gun driven ? looks like to me

There are a lot of very cool things about this sport. My favorite though is the people that shoot it. (yes, you are included in that Jamie.)

I would say the military drives the market moreso than any particular shooting sport, but based on the exponential increase in manufacturers involved in sponsoring/supporting 3 gun matches and shooters, I would say our sport has surpassed most (all?) of the other shooting sports.

Bryan,

Don't forget that many things that the military now uses came about from competition. I think both are complimentary in the final results.

Very true, Dan. My comments regarding the market were more directed at $$$$$$$$$$ than advances in technology and technique. $1,500 toilet seat, anyone? :)

My claim to professional fame is I got a Post Office distribution center approved by the Feds on the first walk through. the guy with the Post office said that had never happened in his 20 + career. That was back in 1983 when I ran large construction projects, <_< And tonight I am trying to get paint off my hands
