davidwiz
If this is the wrong forum, a 1k pardons, pls move. Living here in the sun shiny state of NJ it is difficult to find suitable rifle range to shoot long distances (200+ yards). Before I get a bolt gun, I would like to know if there is at least one place that I can shoot it. I live in Southern NJ, near Philadelphia. Others on this forum have hinted at "hidden" ranges where 600+ yards is possible in SE PA. I'm willing to travel a reasonable amount of time (1.5 - 2 hrs) if necessary. TIA, David
BillL223
New Holland Rifle and Pistol Club has rifle ranges from 100 to 600 yards in 100 yard increments. Dues are $40/yr. They also have covered 25 and 50 yd pistol ranges and 5 separate pistol pits, 2 with plate racks. Range is about 1/2 hr from the Morgantown exit of the PATP. Wings and Water, formerly Twin S is a public range near East Greenville PA where you can pay by the day. I think ranges go to 500 yds. Some of the customers are a little scary. I have been a member @ New Holland for several years and think its great.
Flexmoney
David, this thread likely belongs in "match discussions". But, I won't move it there now...it will get lost in the 3-gun talk that is going on.

Jim Norman
Flex, I am also interested in where longer ranges than the 350 at CJ might be found. I think that if this is not the correct forum, maybe there should be a "Places to Shoot" forum, thread, topic, page or something that won't get lost. Maybe it could be set-up in a regional manner? or even by state? Dave, if you find a nice 1000 yard range open to the public or that has low membership, let me know. davidwiz
Jim, New Holland is about 1.5 hrs from Philly and Bill said it is $45 to join. Might be the ticket. I've been looking for ranges at http:/www.wheretoshoot.org There doesn't seem to be very many ranges w/ 200+ yards in NJ. Ranges in PA: Water & Wings in East Greenville PA (which is just off the Quakertown exit of the Northeast Extension of the PA Turnpike, about 1hr from Philly) has 500+ yards. Ranges in DE: Bridgeville Rifle & Pistol Club w/ 500+ yards (don't know cost or other info). Ranges in NJ: Central Jersey Rifle & Pistol Club in Jackson NJ has 300yards, but it costs a couple hundred dollars a yr to join; Cherry Ridge Range in Highland Lakes, NJ has 300 yards (don't know cost or other info); Cumberland Rifleman in Millville NJ has 500+ yards (don't know cost or other info). If you want to go sometime, let me know. -David
