Ontarget
I would like to shoot some minor .40S&W ammo in IDPA with my G-35. Does your G-35 shoot reliably with minor power factor ammo? (125K-135K pf) What recoil spring do you find works best? Do you need to load higher than 125K power factor to get 100% reliability? Thank you. a.roberts
I load to about 145pf with a 155gr, used to use a 180gr. Functions with a 17lb spring, but a 15lb feels best to me. Never loaded to 125-135.
bikerburgess
I think you will find that the answer is shooter dependent. I have shot my G20 down to 120pf for a GSSF match and had it run fine at 130pf one of my teen age boys could not shoot it at all without a stove pipe and the other one could shoot it but only with some magazines and not others. My G22 will run 130pf ammo fine and it has so I would load up some minor rounds and try it stock first. Mike
SirLoin
I got a G35 to shoot Minor in IDPA and Major at USPSA. With VihtaVuori N320 powder, my G35 will only shoot reliably if my PF is at least 140 -- however, others seems to do fine with around 135 PF (though they might be using faster burning powder like Titegroup, which has a higher pressure spike). I use a Jager polymer guide rod with a 13 # ISMI spring.
SirLoin
Oh. My experience is based on loading and chronoing 300 rounds of 0.1 grain increments of VV N-320, from 110 PF to 185 PF, using Berrys plated 180 grain flat point straight shoulder bullets, as well as Berrys flat point round shoulder bullets. Thus, my comments are based on this data. Outside of these specs, I don't have a lot of personal data.
TacticalReload
I've run minor ammo using as low as an 11# IMSI spring reliably. With 200 gr MG bullets, I've gone as low as 2.6 gr of Clays. Any lower and they don't cycle.
kevin c
3.2 regular Clays over a MG 180 JHP at 1.135" gives me a nice soft load in my 35, using 11# ISMI springs. Comes in at about 135 PF.
cgrivois
Im using N320 over 180gr PD bullet in a G35. Anything below 130pf and I seem to have issues. Im using an 11lbd main spring. My current load is 3.9 gr. I got chronoed at a major last month and was running 4.0 gr, chronoed at 135ish.
