e-mishka
Got my mags today. I thought they would have K40 markings on them but they don't, however they do have black follower. Can I load factory ammo in them, or I have to get some that loaded long?

Skydiver
There was another thread talking about MecGar making magazines for Tanfoglio and they would be marked one way, and MecGar being able to sell after market magazines, and they would be marked differently. This maybe proof of that arrangement.
Nealio
The ones from greg will be marked something like MGWIT40LF
e-mishka
Nealio Exactly that. So what ammo can I load?
Nealio
They should have a spacer (you should be able to see it), so you don't need to load long.
e-mishka
Nealio With H141 extension, Grams follower and 11 coil spring I can barelly get 21 rnds in the mag. Should I use 10th coil spring instead for easy loading?
david s
Henning would suggest the 10 coil with that pad. Thats what he sent me. EAA got No Parts (mags) on their last order from Tangfolio in late February so K series mags will be slim pickings from them this month. Hopefully they will get a full order for early April? I think that leaves MidWay and Henning for k-series and Greg for the LF-series. Edited March 10, 2012 by david s

david s
Are there any known issues with lf series mags from Greg? No problems with the LF Series from Mec-Gar. I only own 9mm and 38Super.The 38S mags also runs 9x23 Winchester. I don't own any in the other calbers. I've heard the 45LF mags looks sickly when there are loaded but never heard they ever had any FTF and fire issues.40S&W again no problems. Just my opinion, i think the mag springs are a little stiffer than the in K series. So far Mec-Gar has not imported their 10mm mag.
e-mishka
I was able to load 21 rnds into those new LF series mags with H141 extension, Grams follower and 10 coil spring. However I can't seat the mag with slide forward. It will seat with the slide open or with 20 rnds. Is it normal or am I having some issues with mags? e-mishka
What OAL to load for newer mags? I'll plan on using cast bullets ( e.g Bayou) 180 or 200 gn over VV N320 powder. If anyone have a recepie it would be appreciated as well.
Skydiver
For the K40's you'll want something close to the SAAMI spec 1.135 length. Adjust as needed for your specific bullet shape if you encounter feeding issues.
