Oh and where's a reliable source for 170mm Caspian mags? Edited February 29, 2012 by 406shooter
Hi-Power Jack
who makes good ammo for major? 406, one of the Forum's dealers is DCAMMO - he just started making major ammo available. From what I hear, it's great stuff. Jack
superdude
the SuperComp might run fine without extractor adjustment. http://38super.net/Pages/Brass.html for information on ammo: http://38super.net/Pages/Factory2.html
gng4life
I ran quick a bit of SC in my unmodified STI Eagle Open gun. Some guys have problems with the extraction but I never did. I would try it first before modifying anything.

Guest
Until others who have firsthand knowledge about the 170mm mags chime in, this thread has what seems to be the most common consensus for obtaining Caspian 170mm mags: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=126515&st=0&p=1427806&hl=jjanglin&fromsearch=1entry1427806 I run a Caspian open gun but do not have any 170mm mags, maybe someday. Rumor is that Caspian is working with a company to weld up some of the new style tubes (with the nice base pads) to meet the 170mm gauge, however that is completely unsubstantiated and currently unrealized so if you’re in a hurry I’d go elsewhere. Jim Anglin of Sailors Custom Pistols posts here as “jjanglin” or he can be reached at http://www.caspianarmsltd.com/index.php?option=com_weblinks&view=category&id=6%3Agunsmiths&limitstart=20 - number 26 on the list if you want to call or email him. If you are running a Caspian hi-cap it is worth your time to do a search of his posts here on BE and read what he shares about the Caspian and EAA mags (which are similar)…truly a wealth of knowledge. In fact, I need to thank him someday as the information in his posts (along with a few other posters) helped me figure out how to get the new style Caspian .38stuper mags running. (So, Mr. Anglin, if you read this…Thank you!)
