Super or Super Comp

Im new to open and 38 super, I've been wondering can I shoot 38 super comp out of my 38 super with out much trouble and if so who makes good ammo for major? Oh and where's a reliable source for 170mm Caspian mags?

I ran quick a bit of SC in my unmodified STI Eagle Open gun. Some guys have problems with the extraction but I never did. I would try it first before modifying anything.

Thanks guys I'll just get some and see how it runs.I have four 21 rnd mags but I'd like to change to 170mm where wood I find them for Caspian. Will I need to adjust mags for super comp?

Until others who have firsthand knowledge about the 170mm mags chime in, this thread has what seems to be the most common consensus for obtaining Caspian 170mm mags:

I run a Caspian open gun but do not have any 170mm mags, maybe someday. Rumor is that Caspian is working with a company to weld up some of the new style tubes (with the nice base pads) to meet the 170mm gauge, however that is completely unsubstantiated and currently unrealized so if you’re in a hurry I’d go elsewhere.
