SGDM
I was in Columbus, GA on Monday, 21 June 04, conducting training with the AMU at Ft. Benning when 5 weapons and associated equipment was stolen from my truck. The AR's have a unique flip sight on the carbon tube and the rifles are set up for a left hander, because I'm left handed. I know I will probably never see them but if you hear of any Competition guns for sale, let me know and I will pay them a visit! Please send this to your local clubs, ranges, gun shops, and shoot'in buddies. The Police told me that stolen guns from the area have been showing up in Atlanta, Huntsville, Montgomery, Jacksonville, and Tallahssee. Maybe I will get lucky, I am due for some luck! 1. AR-15, Rock River, 5.56, SN: CM10133, 18" Krieger fluted bbl with Cooley comp, carbon freefloat tube, Chip McCormick flat trigger, Ergo grip, YM hard chrome bolt carrier. rhino
I hope you have good insurance ... It won't help much, but you have at least $1000 of coverage for being an NRA member (and more if you bought extra).

SGDM
I have USAA and they only cover $2000...they suck! My NRA membership lapsed during my last tour to Iraq, I have been busy that past 3 years. I was at the Econo Lodge on Victory Dr. I loaded my Yukon and walked in to the room to call for directions to the range. Adios Greg
rhino
Ouch! I am really sorry to hear that ... good luck recovering your stuff! If USAA is your auto insurance, you may also want to look at your renter's or home owner's insurance policy as well. It is possible they will cover some of the loss of theft from your vehicle under certain circumstances and it's at least worth a try. BTW ... thank you for your service to our country. It's a shame that you have to come home and get "rewarded" by scumbags like that.
Rob Boudrie
If you ever report a gun stolen, make sure the agency lists it in NCIC (they should automatically), and if you move, contact the agency to have your new address added to the case file. If the gun is recovered, the police agency which finds the gun will likley contact the reporting agency, rather than try to track down the owner. Sometimes guns go make it back. A local shooter actually recovered his Ed Brown comp gun from the property room of a major US city years after it was stolen - and they even threw in a copy of the ballistics examination of the gun and the death certificate of the miscreant. (Getting shot 8 times while out on bail terminated the need for the department to keep the gun as evidence)
davidwiz
At a local IPSC match in my area a few years ago, a nationally known GM was shooting. He left one of his guns in his unlocked car and a visitor to the range (not connected to the match or club) broke into the car and stole the gun. He tried to pawn it in the next state where he lived and the pawnshop proprietor, having not seen an IPSC gun before, figured it was stolen and called the police. Guy got his gun back within 2 days. Hope you get your stuff back.
TRNinTX
Not gun related, but I believe the ass**** scumbags watch hotels and motels. Two years ago we stopped in Columbus, OH on the way to FGN. I took all of my camera equip (Minolta 35mm and Panasonic digital video) out of the bag in the back of the truck and placed inside the truck under the back seat. The next morning we came out and as Kyle slammed the back door of the extended cab the glass fell to the ground. The window had been neatly popped out they reached for the equipment, and replaced the window as if nothing had happened. The windows are tinted and the cameras were under the seat out of plain view. I am convinced somebody saw me put them there when I checked in. Now, EVERYTHING, goes into the room at night. If they want it now they will get a surprise. My wife was so mad at the low rents that I think she would have pulled the trigger had she seen them.

RKooi
SGDM, We are getting the word spread to all the clubs and shooters in metro ATL. A good friend of mine is a Sgt. in the Intelligence unit of Atlanta PD. I will get him the list so he can circulate it. He has a good rapport with most of the downtown pawn shops as well. We'll be looking.

Jeeper
Didnt TGO have some guns stolen and then see them in a movie or something like that? I thought that is what Burkett told me. SOrry for the loss. Hopefully the custom serial number will help in recovery.
