JakeMartens
Any good?compared to Winchester? I have only reloaded with Winchester small rifle for my 40s&w loads, but wanted to know about these. Any experience?
lee blackman
I've used their small pistol primers. I've heard they were harder than winchesters, but I didn't find that the case. Definately didn't have any light primer strikes in my Glock with its reduced striker spring.
Hi-Power Jack
Any good?compared to Winchester? I used to use WW only, until primer shortage, then tried S & B. I couldn't get reliable ignition with my BHP - use them only for practice now. Seems to depend on the gun - some will ignite them and some won't ignite them reliably. ChuckS
Jake, Is it really worth the $0.0066 per shot to find out? (I assume you are looking at these )
noylj
I think that $99/5000 is just a hair under 2 cents a primer, plus shipping and hazmat. They should work as well as the S&B primers in their own ammunition. However, I wish I had the money to really stock up...

The difference from the sale S&B to PV win SRP price is $0.0052 per round. Not much of a gain for a primer that may not pop. As for S&B performance, I am not sure they use rifle primers in their handgun ammo... The only reason I commented is that back during the dark days, people tried many things because that was all they could get. Quite a few folks wound up with "practice" primers. Unless you really know that a primer will work in your gun, it may be wise to look elsewhere to save some money. JMHO, YMMV.
