Nowind0
I am looking for a 38 Special load using 158 SWC and Bullseye powder. I have seen anywhere between 3.0 and 3.8 grns as suggestions. Any one have any specifics on what they are using. This is for a revolver and more concerned with accuracy than speed. Thanks
AzShooter
3.8 grains will just get you the speed you need for IPSC and ICORE minor. It's a nice light load. The only thing I would change is I would go with a RNL instead of a SWC for faster reloads. Good Luck.
Nowind0
Thanks for the help. I am using SWC for Bullseye Competition. They make really nice holes. I will load up some 3.8 grn load and test them tomorrow.
AzShooter
For Bullseye I'd go to 3.0 you don't need all that power if you are just shooting papper. Load up some 3.0, 3.1, 3.2 and see what gives you the best groups.
Tom E
You might consider a WC or HBWC rather than the SWC. For your 158 SWC 3.0 gr of Bullseye should be plenty, less may be better. 700ish fps seems about right. Solo 1000 will load just fine using Bullseye loading data but is cleaner burning and bulkier giving a better case fill.
