Trini
Will 5 lbs of pellet pins be enough? How long will they last before needing to be replaced?
The_Vigilante
Yes, 5lbs should be enough to start with but I would get a second bag for backup as soon as possible. The pins will last "forever" but you will lose some every time you use them. In which tumbler will you be using them may I ask.
jmorris
Will 5 lbs of pellet pins be enough? How long will they last before needing to be replaced? Will last longer than you. 5 lbs is enough for the small tumblers. The one I built used 20 lbs but cleans about 3000 cases a run.
Trini
It is a Cabela's Case Tumbler. Will the SS media cause lots of wear on the plastic bowl? How much does the media cost. Edited February 18, 2012 by Trini
The_Vigilante
I wouldn't advise using the stainless steel media in a vibratory tumbler. You need a rotary tumbler. The vibratory tumbler won't last very long with the stainless steel media and will not do a good job of cleaning the brass.
acekc
Tumbling with stainless media is a wet process - take a look at this website for more information: http://www.stainlesstumblingmedia.com/ The "Tutorials" section has a couple of videos about the process. Trini
Good thing I looked at the video and saw the Thumler's Thubler Model B cause I remembered that I have one in the attic. What's the price of the media? Thanks....
