Rayner's Range (OH) 2-19

Recommended Posts

Rayner's Range is having their first match this Sunday. Six stages, cost is $20 and you can reshoot the whole match for $5.00. They also are having a two side matches for $5.00 apiece. One is a .22 match and the other is a centerfire rifle match.

Rayner's is unique as the match is setup and run from 9am-5pm. Show up when you can, form a squad and go shoot. I will be there around 11:30. Usually I can show up, shoot, eat some of ma Rayner's homade pie, reshoot and be on the road by 4:30.

See you there.

It is going to be chilly but, I have yet to miss Rayners first match. Actually, the past 3 ~ 4 years we have been pretty lucky in terms of the weather.

I am so match hungry right now!

I know what you mean. Last weekend I told the wife I didn't care if I had to shovel my way there or shoot in ice skates, I was going to this match. Looks like it will be sunny and a little chilly.

Last February was my first USPSA match. We got lost getting there, showed up pretty late and halfway through it started to pour freezing rain on us. I remember they had the swivel chair out with a start box for the gun. From the time I was called to LAMR to the time the buzzer went off the gun had a layer of ice covering it. :surprise: I had a blast and couldn't wait to come back.

Oh yeah, the swivel chair. I dislike that thing sooo much :angry2:

Who would put a swivel chair with a 4"Wx12"H slot to shoot through in the first match of the year? Oh wait, Tom Rayner would. He's sick in the head, shoot the 3gun match in July and try to disagree with me. I can't wait for Sunday.

Gawd, was that wind brutal! My fingers were so cold, on one stage, that I could not feel the trigger, which might explain the 3 mikes. That is when I remembered the disposable hand warmers in my range bag. Doh! I did okay on the other stages.

I enjoyed seeing the likes of Mike McCord and Steve Anderson, after a long winter! Was disapointed I did not see . . . let's just say . . . Kyle, Chris . . . light weights! :roflol:
