Hey guys, thanks for taking the time to read my thread and welcome me.

I'm a shooter from Pennsylvania, I've been competing for about 3 years now. I've shot Multigun, IPSC, USPSA, never IDPA (I don't really have fun under their ruleset, specifically mag changes and the whole concealment under a fishing vest thing). My main competition pistol is a Springfield Loaded model 1911, with a few small extras, nothing major. I recently purchased a Springfield XDM 5.25 in 9mm for my Multigun setup, also so I can run Production division USPSA. My shotgun is the FN SLP MK I - a model I know catches a lot of flak, but I love that shotgun and it works well for me.

I do have one question - is there a way to find local events in the events announcement subforum? It seems like everything from all over the country is lumped into one forum.

For pistol matches, look in this forum: >>Match Announcements - Pistol Only - USPSA, IPSC & Misc.<<

For 3-Gun/Multi-Gun matches, look here: >>Multi-Gun, Rifle & Shotgun Match Announcements<<

You can also check out USPSA for clubs in your vicinity: >>Here<<

Welcome from Ohio!

Hey a lot of us (but not everyone here) also feel the same way, so I think you'll fit in & feel very welcome here. Obviously we all have our own opinions, and sometimes they are best kept to themselves, but again ... not always!

Here's what I do about finding local events, go to the "Match Announcements" Forum of your choice .... Mine is "Pistol Only - USPSA, IPSC, Misc." and up at the top of the screen you should see a blue rectangle or Tab that says "Watch Forum". Click on that and follow the instructions that will help you get signed up with immediate / delayed emails any time a new Match Announcement is posted here.

Now keep in mind some or many of them will NOT be what you are looking for, so when I get emails about matches half way across the country or just something I'm generally not interested in, I simply hit DELETE on my computer or smart-phone. Doesn't cost me a dime, except maybe a few seconds to quickly scan the email to see what it is, or where it is.

But when I DO see something that interests me, I am notified immediately and can save the email for future reference, or links to get more details. It's a very handy tool if you're willing to ignore or delete the other 9 out of 10 emails. B)
