XDM 5.25 Classification question

I recently purchased a Springfield XDM 5.25 in 9mm for competition. I see a lot of topics in this forum discussing this pistol, but I'm not sure which classification I can run under. Can I shoot production division in all the major rulesets? IPSC has that 5 inch limit on production class, if I'm not mistaken. I have seen that people shoot the 5.25 in production class in the other leagues, but I don't know what to expect from IPSC.

I do not intend to modify the pistol whatsoever, it will stay in factory condition. I know it is a popular choice to modify it and move to limited or open, but I would like to stay in production class.

Here are the USPSA rules:

* January 2008 Handgun Rules w/ BoD Approved Amendments Through July 2010, effective August 11, 2010

From what I can see in the "APPENDIX D4 — Production Division" starting on page 77 of 108:

APPENDIX D4 — Production Division

1 Minimum power factor for Major Not applicable

2 Minimum power factor for Minor 125

3 Minimum bullet weight No

4 Minimum bullet caliber / cartridge case length .38 cal. / 9x19 mm (0.354” x 0.748”)

5 Minimum bullet caliber for Major Not applicable

6 Minimum trigger pull No

7 Maximum size Handgun and all magazines (revolvers are exempt) Yes, handgun with empty magazine inserted

must fit wholly within a box with internal

dimensions of 8 15/16” x 6” x 1 5/8” (tolerance

+1/16”, -0”) (8.938”x6”x1.625”)

(227.01mmx152.40mmx41.28mm)

The XDm 5.25 is also listed on the approved firearms list:

* USPSA Approved Production Gun List

Good Luck And Be Safe!!!

:D
