Absolut_Zero
I recently purchased a Springfield XDM 5.25 in 9mm for competition. I see a lot of topics in this forum discussing this pistol, but I'm not sure which classification I can run under. Can I shoot production division in all the major rulesets? IPSC has that 5 inch limit on production class, if I'm not mistaken. I have seen that people shoot the 5.25 in production class in the other leagues, but I don't know what to expect from IPSC. I do not intend to modify the pistol whatsoever, it will stay in factory condition. I know it is a popular choice to modify it and move to limited or open, but I would like to stay in production class.
diehli
Production Division is the logical choice. You could also shoot Limited 10 minor or Limited minor.
Absolut_Zero
Does the length violate the IPSC production division rule about 127mm max length rule? I'm pretty sure it's ok for Tac Optics in USPSA multigun so I didn't ask but if anyone knows I'd love some reassurance.
diehli
Are you in the US? If so, you'll be shooting USPSA & are fine.
Absolut_Zero
Great to know. Yes, I am in the US. I do know that some events I've run have classified based on IPSC rules, which is why I suddenly got concerned. Most shoots I attend are governed by the USPSA rules, so that answer covers the majority of my shooting.
Mapzter
Does the length violate the IPSC production division rule about 127mm max length rule? If the barrel length is 5.25" (133 mm) then it can't be used for IPSC Production Division.
