1x optical sights, suggestions?

I am going to replace the SIG red dot that I have been using. It is fine for daytime, but at night the dot is blurry and has sufficient glare to impede my view of my target. I bought a used Valdada RDS Edge red dot sight but when it arrived I realized immediately that it is not going to do the job either. On its lowest setting, the Valdada red dot is much brighter and has much more glare than the SIG red dot that I am wanting to replace. After that fiasco I put some more time into research and found out that red dot sights aren't so good at night for the now obvious reasons. I thought it was just the super cheap ones, but I guess in general they are not suited for the reasons that I am finding out.

So, I found the Leupold Prismatic 1x14. Looks like a nice sight. I love the idea that it has an etched reticle that is illuminated. It is a bit pricey (typical of Leupold) so I'm wondering if there is anyone else out there making a sight like this? Or, is there a red dot sight that has a low enough setting and a high enough quality red dot that it will not cause excessive glare at night (my budget for a red dot is around $200)? Vortex Strikefire?

I will be mounting this on an Uzi carbine that I use to hunt coyotes and kill critters around the farm at night. It needs to be compact, rugged, and have an illuminated reticle of some sort that will not block the view of my target out to 100+ yards. I tried to shoot a coyote the other day at about 60 yards. There was enough moon light that I could see him with my naked eye, but when I looked through the red dot sight I could not see him at all. I would be willing to pay more for a sight with an illuminated reticle than what I am willing to pay for a red dot. I just want to look at my options and right now the only one I am finding is Leupold.

Thanks

Aimpoint and Eotec both have sights that go very low in the illumination...to the point that the dots are only visible with night vision gear. They are a bit pricey thou...

BUT...

I have a couple of Aimpoint M4S's and the lower settings that are visible without NVGs are very suitable for naked eye night shooting...

Thanks for the reply. I thought that might be the case, but its good to know for sure. I might take a look at some but I think if I'm going to spend that kind of cash I would rather get the Leupold Prismatic.

Leupolds and Eotechs are not comparable. By etching the reticle, Leupold fixes you to a precise eye relief . Its not a classic red dot. Eotechs can be had from 300 to 700, is the Prismatic lower priced than that?

The Prismatics are around $400. I understand what you are saying about eye relief, that is worth considering. I really like the fact that the Prismatic is not reliant upon batteries. I'm not a big fan of Leupold. I've purposely stayed away from owning one for along time, but this Prismatic looks intriguing. I wish Vortex or IOR made something like this.

If considering the EO Tech, check out he Bushnell Hollo, I sold mine to get a EO Tech, really really stupid, wish I had the Bushnell back. The Bushnell holds your setting so you don't have to adjust the brightness every time, way better.
