I had the same issue running moly coated 200grain lead at 1.200"

It drove me crazy. They would all stop short just like your photo shows, but they would drop in backwards just fine. That let me know that it wasn't a sizing issue.

I even went and bought a Redding seater die.

My issue went away when I ditched the Lee factory crimp die and went to a standard Dillon crimp die.

Keep in mind I am not a FCD hater. I have one that works great for 9mm, but in 40, it seems like maybe the FCD skimming the oversized lead in the brass knocked the seating alignment out of place, thereby making the ogive of the bullet rub one area of the case gauge.

That's just speculation. Maybe my FCD is bad. I took it apart and cleaned it also. I also noticed it put a strange dent near the case mouth (no I am not using too much lube).

Try a normal crimp die and see if you have the same issue.
