1911vm
I just called bushmaster and gave them a serial number to find out manufacture date . The reply was "we have no history on this rifle " how is this even possible??????
Jadeslade
Bushmaster was sold and moved all their stuff to New York State. Go figure. It's there, somewhere .Good luck. Cerberus owns them now.
gng4life
Did you ask to see if they have a S/N close to yours to see the approximate manufacture date? Could have talked to the "wrong" person, try calling back and hopefully you get someone else who is a little more informed. It may be stored on microfiche or something and they don't want to dig it up. I really don't think they would be in business very long if they don't have proper records of their modern rifles on the books - the ATF would have a field day with them. SinistralRifleman
the ATF would have a field day with them. The FFL they originally had undoubtedly closed down when ownership transferred. All records would have been sent in to BATF as part of closing down. They're in a massive government warehouse somewhere, probably the one we saw in Raiders of the Lost Ark. A new FFL is issued to the new owners (Cerberus/Freedom Group). The records they have are probably electronic copies left over from when the old Bushmaster switched to an electronic vs paper system. And that's why they don't have anything prior to 2003. IIRC 2003 or so is when BATF first started allowing electronic record keeping variances. Edited February 7, 2012 by SinistralRifleman

actionshooter
One of the problems with Bushmaster (the older pre-94) rifles was they didn't keep good records wether it was sent out as a complete rifle or just a lower. That caused lots of problems from 1994 until the sunset 2004.
