jriera
Does anyone manufactures a blast shield for a vertical mount?? My Open gun just got a new vertical mount and the C-More is WAY too close to the hybrid ports .. so far I just need to clean the glass after every stage .. but seems like prevention will be much better. Thanks in advance
diehli
Er, you mean for a standard mount? That's what the blast shields are made for. http://shootersconnectionstore.com/Shooters-Connection-C-More-Blast-Shield-P109.aspx http://www.cpwsa.com/C-More%20Accessories.htm http://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductDetail.jsp?LISTID=1600000-1093363056
Pat Miles
Title says 90 degrees. I don't know of any shields for a 90 degree mount. Pat
jriera
Thanks, but no, for a 90 degree mount .. You can see here --> http://gallery.me.com/rieraj#100416 Edited February 7, 2012 by jriera
gng4life
What mount are you using? The Quinn II gives the best setback away from the ports. However, no, I don't know of any shields for them. I asked my gunsmith about working with me to make one, so I hope to have one soon.
jriera
It is a Cameron mount .. I have the option to 'trim' the mount and use only 3 screws ... trying to avoid that for now .. Plan 'B' is to have Matt Cheely build me (once and for all) a new upper
rishii
if your gun has a c-more+2 hole spacing, the quinn II is the way to go with a hybricomp barrel I run the same barrel setup with the quinn II mount, and it sits a bit farther back than the mount you're using now, but I still gotta clean it after 3-4 stages
Skydiver
Why not do what NASCAR does with the tear-off / rip-off layers they put on race car windshields? Put on 3-6 layers and probably just tear off every two stages...
hax
I don't know what brand of blast shield it is(probably made by Matt) but, Matt uses some on his open guns that just seem to attach to the c-more itself. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=114817 Check out the picture with the open c-more with the blast shield
al503
Before plan B (building a new upper), you could get someone to tap the first hybrid hole, fill it with a screw using the nastiest loctite, and grind it flush. Either of the above seem to be extreme compared to getting a Quinn mount and calling it good. You could put your existing mount for sale in the classifieds and not be out too much $.
