40S&W
Can you use and External Ballistics Program to zero an open 9mm minor gun for steel plate competition. 5" barrel (8 port comp 4 top 4 sides, comp 2-3/8" long), 115gr. FMJ, BC 0.115, 1080 fps, scope height 1.9 inches, 50 deg. F, 640 ft. alt. Or should I just zero it at 25 yds or 50 yds.?

MarkCO
At some point, you have to shoot a group at some distance to get the POA and POI difference, which is mechanical. After that, you could use a program, but it is easier to just zero at an appropriate distance.
