I must be weird or something, I never noticed a difference when I changed recoil springs. I was getting a few malfunctions so I switched from the stock spring to an 11lb spring, but it wouldn't lock up all the way when I tested it so I went with a 13lb spring. Works great every since, but I can't feel a difference.

I really like the 11lb spring in my G34. If you run an 11, however, conventional wisdom suggests using a lighter striker spring (there are a number of threads on this subject on this forum). The lightened striker spring, in turn, yields a nicer trigger pull. I've found, however, that I have to use Federal primers with this configuration, if I want it to go bang on every shot. Again, I think this is pretty common among folks using the 11lb springs.

I run a 13 lb spring in mine and ive never had an issue. The 11 lb spring was a different story. Sometimes the gun wouldnt go completely into battery, so i'd suggest the 13lb. I have run over 5000 rounds before i change my springs out, or once a year, whichever comes first.

P.S. I'm running just plain old factory ammo through mine, if you run reloads you can get away with different springs. Just test before going to the match.

Well, I went back to the stock striker spring in my 34, and with the 13lb recoil spring it started coming out of battery. Switched to a 15lb. and now I'm good to go.

Could tell absolutely no difference between the two at range.

one thing I noticed is that my reloads, with the 13# spring seem to have more scorch marks, which is usually indicative of case not sealing. it disappers with the stock rod. Could the 13# be unlocking earlier due to less spring force?

I believe you are right. I have noticed that I get a small amount of scorching with a 13# spring as well.

The stock Glock spring is more than 12#, so it will wear out longer.

But even stock Glock springs are supposed to be replaced every 3-4K rounds.

Never had a problem before on my older glock 35 and i shoot morethan 5k works fine... I guess thats what it is...
