ceejayex
Found an SX1 for sale, guy wants 475.00. It has a 30" full choke barrel on it. Where would I find a shorter barrel for this? I understand that the SX1's are also machined not stamped. Should I get it or hold out for an SX2? Thanks
ranger
There was a "cult" in Sporting Clays at one time that swore by the SX1 - I am sure Google can find info on the SX1. I suspect the info will be more clays oriented and less action oriented.
Bryan 45
I have a SX1. The problem with using it for 3 gun would be that the carrier release must be pushed and held in to load the gun. They are soft shooting guns, but there are so many better options out there.
Dan Sierpina
Bryan is correct. I have 2 of them. If you want a shorter barrel, have it shortened and choke tubes installed. By today's standards, the barrel is on the thin side, so, Win Chokes will leave the barrel walls too thin. Standard Tru Chokes work just fine, no need for Thin Wall versions, should you decide on the gun. I used Winchester 1200 mag extension for mine, the magazine tube had to be shortened just a bit, or a spacer made to keep the forend tight when the extension is tightened down. All the internal parts are machined, with the exception of the disconnector. The guns feel like a bank vault when you cycle them, nice and smooth!
