bbbean
I bought a gun with a green fiber optic, and thought I'd swap it out for the red FO I prefer, but discovered (too late) that the element was apparently glued in in the section where the element passes through the sight. Short of finding a .06 drill bit and drilling it out, is there a way to dissolve the FO and whatever glue they used to put it in?
kmca
If it's super glue, I'd try acetone or finger nail polish remover. That should take care of the glue, but it could take a while to dissolve the fiber optic. I'd probably use a #53 drill, without the power drill. a.roberts
Carb cleaner would probably take care of the rod fairly quick.
Morgan
Turn the slide over and soak the sight in acetone. It'll take half an hour or so, but the fiber will turn to goo and you can push it out with a wire.
