Yes. You could do the same thing with one temporary pin. The stage planning would have to be detailed and there'd be a lot of calculations to be done. shred Posted January 8, 2012 Share Posted January 8, 2012 A long time ago I redrafted the Steel Challenge stages so they could be set up by pounding a landscape spike into the ground at the start box and hooking a tape on over a protractor. You'd set an angle and go the desired distance and drop the plate. It worked ok, but measuring angles precisely is tough, so it ended up easier just to deal with the X-Y layout. With a surveyors transit, laser rangefinder and two people you could do it pretty fast though. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
