45user
Shot my new to me G34 for the first time today at the local IDPA. It was giving me trouble on the second round feeding but it is actually the first round of the mag, meaning I load the chamber then take out the mag and insert fresh 10 round loaded mag. Then I shoot first round that was chambered goes off then second round doesn't get fed and I have to clear the jam manually then rest of the mag clears without problem. I'm thinking the either the main spring is too weak to push the top round on the mag or mag spring is too strong. I was having hard time loading the 10th round on the mag. What do you do to resolve this issue? Thank you for your help in advance! Hope I'm making a sense.
67 LS1 Camaro
- Is it happening to all your mags or just one ? - Using reloads ? If so what heads ? PF ? OAL? - recoil spring # ? - Using 10rd. mags? Try hicap mags load 10 ..
45user
So far I've isolated to two of my 4 mags. I'm using factory 10 rounders. Stock recoil spring, not sure what the # is but didn't change out anything. I was using factory new ammo, PMC & Fiocchi 115 gr FMJ. I was going to load my mags to top and let them sit for a while. Not sure if that will help. Thanks,

I loaded all my mags full and kept them loaded in between shooting sessions. Once the springs relaxed, It began to cycle fine. 6K rounds later, It's still running like a top! dqshooter
Some 10rd mags have trouble feeding when loaded in with a barney round. You should try to load and let them sit foir away as previously suggested, it is more than likely just the mag springs. I would double check your mags really well for the little plastic overmold taps that are sometimes left behind, they can cause problems as well. Babaganoosh
Springs won't "break in" if they are just sitting there compressed. If you want to weaken the spring you need to put a load on it, take it off, put a load on it, take it off, rinse, repeat. Sit in front of the tv and load and unload your mags a few times to weaken the springs a bit.
Flexmoney
Also, make extra effort to ensure that your thumbs aren't dragging on the slide at all, and that your gun is put together correctly (little spring on the slide stop/release)/
