ogiebb Posted January 6, 2012 Share Posted January 6, 2012 Hello i been having some problems lately with my akdal it ran fine for the first 50 rounds i shot it not i get 1 FTE per 5-10 rounds,used diff kinds of ammo from cheap walmart value packs to win AA 1200 FPS ammo all have a FTE jam, i tried doing a search but i did not find that much info on a fix, i did find the bushing that tromix was selling was wondering if anyone used these to take care of their jams.... Its just a washer...5/8" id , grind od down to about .850 All it does is force the bypass spring down to about coil bind, this prevents it from venting gas from the operating system Keep the guide rod that the piston rides on clean, and use a lube that reduces carbon build up (progold lube works well here) Jim Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
KentG Posted January 8, 2012 Share Posted January 8, 2012 Make one or buy one but mine has run federal loads at 1140fps. Had about 20 in the box left but they all ran fine. Can't remember the last time it choked on one. Mine hates the winchester cheapo stuff, but I don't know lately as I haven't tried any in 4 or 5 years. I agree and my Saiga WILL run 1200 FPS Federal stuff and it will run Estate 1200 BUT anything lower wont run in my Saiga BUT it will in the AKDAL. AND the wallyworld winchester wont run in the Saiga but IT WILL in the AKDAL. I wont run anything under 1200 for match just because but its nice to know the AKDAL WILL. BTW there is a nice report by Jim from the shotshow his Akdal ran about 3K rounds with 2 issues. He said both were due to a dirty mag. You would think I get paid the way I pump the 1919 but I just like it. Trust me when I say if someone like Winchester or Remmington makes a mag fed shotgun that is better I will take a look. Have you taken the reciever apart? THERE IS A LOT OF SHARP EDGES THAT NEED TO BE SMOOTHED OUT!!! Mine was full of metal shavings after the first trip to the range. after i smoothed the chatter marks on top of the reciever and the part of the bolt that caused that problem ..as well as the sharp edges around the chamber..she has been fine.
