jhgtyre
Ray Charles died today from liver disease. He was beyond great and much of the music we all know and love today is descended from the innovative blend of gospel and blues that he pioneered. If the Blues Brothers is on TV I always stop and look to see if it is the “Ray’s Music Emporium” scene. When Ray whips out a gun and shoots a warning shot at that kid I crack up every time. And of course when Ray says “there isn’t anything wrong with this keyboard” he really proves that it is the Indian and not the arrow. -ld
BigDave
My wife and I were lucky to have seen him play "Georgia" at Fair St. Louis in 2000. Nice.
TDean
I was reading... "At age 5, a year or two before he went blind, the boy saw his brother drown to death in the family's bathtub. At 15 both his parents were dead."
SiG Lady
Truly a great, great personality and talent. The music industry gained much by his presence... and we all loved him along the way. I'm glad I got to spend time on this planet at the same time HE did.
