Canuck223
I wound up trading for a funky old S&W Model 58, and was toying with the idea of shooting the odd IPSC match with it. Making major with the 210 gr Berrys shouldn't be an issue. I have 6 speedloaders coming with it. Now I just need to think about a holster and grips. Yep, I know. 99 reasons, but a clue ain't one... Guest
The .41 is a great revolver round for hunting and protection. Popular with the outdoorsie Alaska types and bush pilots (works well on bears and other large critters). If you got it and like it why not run it? z40acp
A .41 has the same frame size as a 625 so buy a holster that will adapt to different length barrels. That way if you like Rev Div. and decide to go with a different gun, you don't have to repurchase equipment. With a big case you need a special powder. Either Titegroup or one of the Cowboy Action powders might be a good choice. At low 800's FPS you could shoot lead.

Brian B
Model 500 Impact Absorbing Hogue Square Butt Conversion Grips I put these on my model 610 and can shoot though an IPSC competition without hurting my hands. I bought a set of JM grips but they were brutal on my medium sized hands. I highly recommend these inexpensive grips, available directly from S&W. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product4_750001_750051_765464_-1_758003_757843_757837_ProductDisplayErrorView_N A loading block would be very helpful: I have one for my 627 http://www.5starfirearms.com/357_l.htmlhttp://www.5starfirearms.com/357_l.html I also have 4 loading blocks for my 617 and three loading blocks for my 586 for PPC ( from safariland) http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=12499/Product/SAFARILAND-SPEEDLOADER-LOADING-BLOCKS you can get leather speed loader holders on the web, I crack the plastic ones. Get a 20-30$ pouch holster to start, A good carpenter with a drill press could easily make a few blocks for you. Just give him your cylinder and speedloaders for templates. Think about a level three volume of rounds: 240? I've been shooting IPSC in different classes for 15 years; open, limited and production pistols as well as three gun. I've been shooting PPC with revolvers pistols and their three gun. I decided to go to IPSC Standard revolver about a year ago with my 610 and it truly is a pleasure. West Texas Granny
Doesnt everybody shoot the 41 mag. Now all I need is a lever action in 41 mag.
Tom Freeman
I shoot a lot of silhouette with a Freedom Arms 41 Mag. The first Christmas I was married, my awesome wife gave me a 657 Hunter. My favorite pistol caliber by far.
COF
I've got a 5-1/2" Redhawk in .41. Can't shoot it in IDPA but might have to try USPSA one of these days just so I could compete with Blueridge
ihocky2
I have 4 different .41 mags, all S&W's and love them. Probably my favorite caliber. The 40S&W accomplished what the .41 mag was intended to be with reduced loads for police 50 years ago and with full power loads it will stand right next to the .44mag. I have to get a few speed loaders, but I am thinking about taking my 657 to USPSA one of these days. This is just one of the "Because I can ideas" I get. My standard practice load is sitting aroun 950 fps with a 210gr. SWC's and I even use it for medium range hunting. 50 yards dropped a deer nicely.
