Louis Walker
Is the glockworx extended mag release legal in production USPSA? I don't believe so. It is my understanding that only parts available as a factory option are legal. However, this only applies to external modifications. An extended magazine release should be classified under external modifications.
sdm74
it is legal to extend it, as long as surface of hitting area is not larger then OEM Edit: and is offered by factory Edited December 27, 2011 by sdm74
Louis Walker
From Appendix D4 Section 21.6: • A factory/OEM magazine release which extends only the length of the magazine release may be used. A magazine release which provides larger surface area (paddles, buttons) may only be used if it is an OEM part available on an approved model of gun. I interpret that to mean only factory or OEM parts from the manufacturer are legal and they may not have a larger surface area unless it is offered as an OEM part for the specific model receiving the modification.
