I'm loading for a savage bolt gun.(my first bolt action attempt) What do I do in the crimp station? Is there a rule of thumb? I do load .223 for my M-4,I use almost no crimp for the semi auto. twodownzero
What do you do with the crimp station? Leave it empty!!
Wanted
I use a very slight crimp. Very slight, just enough to help with any possibility of bullet set back due to recoil.

whistlepig
With correct sizing, no crimp is needed. Neck tension holds the bullet fine. On that press just leave the station empty.

My cases are full of powder...no room for the bullets to be pushed back into the case, even if the neck tension wouldn't hold them there.
