timer and chrono

I have read through the old sticky timer thread and searched for both timer and chrono threads, but I have a few questions I couldn't find or seemed outdated:

Looks like the Pocket Pro II will work for me. Do the new versions or the CED7000 pick up dry fire or airsoft or is the par timer function still the answer here?

Do any of the Chorno's interface with Ipad?

Thanks.

Don't know or care about your Ipad question.

I use the PPII timer and it is great. The only thing some will see as a drawback is it's size. It is perfect for matches but some seem to like the smaller 7000 for practice. I just clip it to my pocket and don't even notice it's there. I like the fact that it is a much lower frequency beep(almost a buzz) compared to other timers such as the 7000. I have RO'g older guys like myself that could not hear the 7000 but can hear the PP just fine.

The PPII is hard to beat.

I have a 7000, that i have used in our club matches, works great, had a problem with it and ced replaced it (it was a few months out of warrenty), but i will be getting a few PPII for our club, a little bigger, replaceable battery, louder. not as easy to misplace. Ray

I'm unaware of any chrono that interfaces with an iPad. Unless the chrono had Wifi (again, don't know of any) then as far as I know the manufacturer would have to produce a custom hardware piece to plug into the dock connector, which I believe requires paying Apple licensing fees and getting approval from them. Given the size of the market for such a thing I doubt any manufacturers would bother.

The Pro Chrono Digital can be connected to a Windows laptop via an optional USB interface. Software included with the USB dongle lets you control the chrono remotely using a long cable. You can also download the data out of the chrono and save it to a CSV. This is how I run my chrono and I love it.

I have used my CED7000 for about 2 years and it has worked flawlessly. It will pick up most airsoft, just set the sensitivity to the highest setting. Don't forget to move it back down before cutting loose with an open gun. For dry fire you will be using par time.

Thanks for all the responses.

I also got a new laptop, so I will just use pc interface and leave iPad at home.

So no one has had luck getting the pocket pro to respond with air soft? That was what I wanted, but ced7000 will work fine if it works with an airsoft.

I usually think I am fairly bright. I won't claim smart, but I can usually figure out how stuff works...

That being said, I feel like a monkey doing string theories trying to figure out how the lanyard attaches to the ced7000.

The small string with the detachable button has me scratching a hole in my head.

Can someone point out whatever it is I am missing?

I have a CE Pocket Pro 2, the indoor league I shoot in purchased a CED 7000 after my PP hit the floor a few times. Wish I had bought the CED 7000 for myself and will shortly. More features, louder buzzer and I like I can drop it in my shirt pocket when scoring targets. Both have been back for repair and service was great on both products.

I have a CE chrono and it has given excellent service.

Make a basket hitch. Insert the tip of the small string through the hole, then pass the lanyard through the opening of the small string.
