Thomas Amoroso
Check it out... I put these together last month out of 1-1/2" PVC. I filled the cross members with sand and capped the ends before glueing the elbows, and then drilled holes in the long sections for drainage in case it rains (which it did the first time we used them)... each is just over 10#s which is great as I dont need sand bags like I did with some of the thinner metal stands for sale on ebay. The six inch pieces off of the tee's are not glued in so they are a bit easier to store and transport. [edit]... if you ... have any ideas for improvements, let me know. Thanks, Tom Edited December 13, 2011 by Flexmoney
The_Vigilante
Just a suggestion-you may want to drill some holes in order to stake the stand in case of wind.

Thanks, Tom For personal use , its really cool. For club use " " . Ive built alot of PVC target stands for my club , but they crack when the careless tries to stake them down . And yes , they crack especially with the holes drilled then nailed down.
ArmdCtzn
Pretty cool for personal use, but as already mentioned they'd get destroyed at a club so don't let them out of your sight.
Round_Gun_Shooter
Good idea - thanks. The more you drill the weaker they get. I use re-bar with a bent hook. One in front and one in back. My bases are full of sand with a threaded fitting on opposite corners to empty if I want to. The corner fittings are a sanitary tee with an end cleanout glued in. clean out
dsmw5142
I built several of those... they work pretty decent for personal use. I keep them in the backyard now and use them for dry fire practice because I can change them around very quickly for different mini dry fire stages. Been looking for a "lighter" design I can use for dry fire practice in my garage and house. Thanks for sharing the info Brandon
Round_Gun_Shooter
Thanks guys. These are just meant for personal use - and agree easy to reposition as needed... For them to last longer make sure you use Schedule 40PVC and not the foam core.
Shezer
Looks good. I think I'll make a few for myself with the trap idea. The club doesn't have any target stands to use so a few of these in the back of the SUV will be great. Dave
