Bryan 45
That sounds like a great rifle, Jamie. They have a great match in January at Rockcastle if you want to ring it out and freeze!

I think that will have to wait a bit, too many match fees due this month. no one to share a ride with, the moon will be in the wrong phase, the sun hurts my eyes when I drive that far in the winter. DaG
So what is the best twist rate and bullet weight for a 26" bbl? I'm asking for 1000 yd F Class build.
Red_SC
120 - 140gr bullet out of a 8 or 8.5 twist. I'm running 130 Bergers out of a 8.5 Kreiger, it stabilizes 139 Lapuas and 140 VLDs just fine.
AlamoShooter
Wow am I happy already. I just picked the gun up today , the 40 year old trigger that has not been replaced yet is ..inconsistent at best. but the gun and scope work great. I stopped off at our shooting area on the way home and managed to sight it in and test a few loads. with just 23 rounds trough the gun I back up to 500 yards. every group had the trigger acting up on one shot to cause me to ...-flinch- during a strange over-travel from the twilight zone. any way of the one shot I called off and the 4 good ones the photo tells the story. This one is my favorite after a 200 yard sight in and going strait out to 500 with the setting sun at my 2 oclock glint in my eye. I called the flintchy flyer left but low it hit the target left and high.

AlamoShooter
Looks ok, I guess. (Jealous? Naaah!, not me!) Well That may have been just beginners luck, I went out quick yesterday to test the rework on the trigger and it spread out to almost 4"
Red_SC
Can't win 'em all. I left the .260 in the safe today and took the .308 out today for the first time in 2 years, getting ready for a match in February. We were holding a mil of wind at 500, I was missing those 6.5mm VLD's for sure!
