Chuck,

Being on the board have you heard anything about what rules will be used at the MG Nat. for open shotgun. I understand there is talk of changing it back to open as it should be. I'm sure others would like to know as well.

Thanks,

Tony

Wow, as others have said kudo's to an early decision!

Now my schedule is almost set...

April looks like this;

6-7 Ephrata MultiGun in Ephrata, WA hosted by Pat Kelly and Carl Carbon...of course RO and shoot

Travel straight to Vegas,

11-15 USPSA Nationals...shoot and RO (I hope)

Travel straight to Liberty Hill, TX.,

20-22 Texas MultiGun Championships...shoot and RO (I hope, sent in app but have yet to hear back)

Travel straight to Colorado,

28-29 Colorado Multi-Gun Championships...shoot and RO for Mark P.

Head home and on the way through Wyoming and Montana, use the rest of the rifle ammo to beat the fleas off the Prairie Dogs! ad lib by Bill Sahlberg :-)

The you can lick your wounds, clean the guns, reload, and change the oil in the truck. Now if my shooting buddy Bill Sahlberg and I don't kill each other before we get back and our wives haven't thrown our stuff into the garbage it looks like a good time (just stay away from my share of those RJMPDs and we will have a great time :-)

Living the dream! It will surly get me out of the house and keep the wife from pressuring me to get to the TO-DO list that I am into right now.

Ahhhhh....Retired life!

sdmd,

I would love to go but as you will notice this is one large road trip from Washington state to as far as TX and return with matches back to back with little or no down time. All matches I am shooting and working to help pay for my habit. I can't see driving to one match and returning...you know being retired/tired is hard work

Now my only exception is the Blue Ridge Mountain 3 Gun and that is a stretch for me but Andy is a good friend and he has helped me so much in the past I just have to.

I just want to know why everyone/MD's thinks they have to give me the long running stages...I'm getting old!

I will PM you with some thoughts...

It's your own fault. When you show up to RO a match with your hand above your head...because you are holding your own IV bag and tubes poked into you...that means you are tough (or bonkers). MDs just want to see how tough.

Since power factors have been some what neturlized let me ask,

If you begin the match with a 9mm, some where during the match the 9mm fails beyond repair.

Could you pick up your backup 40 and shoot it to complete the match?

So what is the deal with the time plus scoring??? Is everyone going with 9mm to have higher capacity? Is PF totally nullified except to make minimum? I am relatively new to USPSA and do not know the ins-n-outs regarding how this will affect what caliber everyone will be using now that the scoring has been changed. Thanks for any insight and advice!

Time-Plus USPSA scoring is very close to IMGA scoring. I'm not sure everyone is going to 9mm. .40 Minor with 20 rounds as opposed to 23 rounds in a 9mm won't be that much different unless there are several stages with 22 to 24 rounds. There are also some that run .38 Super. There have alwasy been a fair number of people running .40 pistols in IMGA matches where major minore did not matter.

If you are going to be shooting Limited or L10 in USPSA pistol and 3G/MG matches, shooting .40 may be a good idea. One pistol with some minor loads for 3G and major loads for pistol matches. I shot a .40 Caliber Limited pistol in everything for the last 6 years.

Hotel suggestions

I emailed USPSA and they said "we are still negotiating a match hotel". Any body have any good suggestions for a hotel that is within a decent distance to the range.

I've stayed at the Best Western on W Sahara. It is close to the range and has good rates. You will see other 3 gunners there at the breakfast buffet.

I'm a local and might I suggest looking into the Red Rock Casino Resort??? Are you looking for strictly price range or looking at the big picture of travel time to and from the range each day and the associated gas money, plus the ease of just driving right down the street each day and not dealing with any strip traffic/delays/headaches/possibly being late??? Red Rock might be a few more bucks per day but you might save in the long run. It is super super close to the range if you didn't know that already (and really nice with good eats).

I'm not sure about any motel type places that would be close...you would need to google places like that to see what might be close.

Hope this helps you out

Since some of us can't afford ~$180 to $500 a night the Red Rock is out of the question...that and if you check their rates and dates they are full!

Just did the home work...I am guessing locals want the revenue :goof:

Only 3 more days to beat the early payment deadline! Applications postmarked after March 5th must pay a late fee.

This year's Multi-gun Nationals will be a great one! The stages have been posted, and it looks like Pete Rensing has done an awesome job again! With all of the issues last year, one thing everyone agreed on was that the stages were really good. This year will be no exception. We've condensed them just a bit to ensure things run faster, but we're still shooting 12 stages.

We'll be using Time-Plus (Outlaw) scoring this year, and the BOD has approved several rule amendments to ensure that we have fewer re-shoots. Open will be UNLIMITED CAPACITY this year. Tactical will be no more than 8 in the tube at any time (like FB3G last year). That means no loading of the tubes after the start signal, and a chamber empty start w/ Tactical SG will only have 8 rounds in the tube...not 8 rounds in the tube and one on the carrier.

There will be no chrono, since PF scoring will not be used.

RO/Staff personnel may shoot the match for score! Competitors who must attend the NRA Show in St. Louis may also shoot the match with staff. This will be a half day Wed, and full day Thurs.

The match hotel will be the Suncoast Hotel & Casino, about 2 miles east of the Red Rock Casino just off Charleston. This is the hotel I've been staying at for the last several Nationals, and I've been VERY happy with it. It's only a few minutes from the range, and you only need to go onto the strip if you WANT to. Updated match, hotel, and schedule info will be posted at www.uspsa-nationals.org shortly

Don't miss the biggest Multi-gun match of the year! 12 stages in 3 days is going to be crazy fun...plus a great way to get some serious work in the week before the TX Multi-gun!

Hope to see you there,

Phil Strader

Co-Match Director

Thanks Mr President for the update, but the hotel appears to be sold out for the nights of the match

RS,

I will keep score of the re-shoots for my stage...and will try to talk the other staff in the same thing at the RO meetings.

gmshtr/Phil/Pres,

Great information, thank you for the update! USPSA is stepping up and really taking the lead in a lot of Multigun actions and we will be better for it in the long run. Thank you for your leadership and guidance! Being a Co-Match Director of an "Outlaw" 3 gun match if I had know of the changes perhaps we would have looked at running our match as a USPSA sanctioned match! Keep up the great work!

I hope someone at USPSA is looking at dates for next year and can announce it at the end of this years match.

RO junkie,

Respectively,

Busyhawk

The NRA meeting is more important to the industry than I think you realize. Sponsors, MDs, etc, etc. I would really hate to miss my first 3G Nats since the first Multi-gun inception in 2004...
