59Bassman
I've got a line on a local Winchester SX3 for a reasonable price, and the 26" barrel I want. The only potential issue is that the gun is a wood stock model, rather than the synthetic. Other than the fact that the wood stock model has a shorter LOP (I'm going to need about an inch of spacers anyway, what's 1/4" between friends?), I've heard something that the action tube may be different between the wood and synthetic models. Anyone know if there's any issue using a wood stock as a basis for 3-gun? Anyone know if the Nordic or Briley tubes will work on the woodies? Any other issues to consider? Thanks for any info- 59B
carharttfarmer
i have heard the action tube is differnt but the lop is listed the same for wood as synthetic other than the compact models when i was looking my sx3 came with a couple LOP spacers and my nordic +6 fits just fine
jimm223
I am using a wood stocked sx3 and other than the wood won't stay as pretty as long/dump barrels and such/ there is no problem using one. My Nordic tube fits fine. The wooden version is actually a little lighter than the synthetic one, according to my scales. Jim M.
