Which match to shoot in the USA

Recommended Posts

Due to the unfortunate cancellation of the USpsc in June i have a set of return tickets that are non refundable but can be exchanged within 12 months for another destination.

So I am looking for 20stages (the more the better) 300+rds and hot dry weather would be good. IPSC/USPSA rules .October to March is ideal.

Standard/limited division.

your suggestions will be gratefully received but they need to be before June so i can change the tickets before they expire

thank you

There may not be many matches with 20 stages or more from October to March, but I have a few suggestions.

1. Shoot the Florida Open in Florida in February. It won't be 20 stages but will have a high round count. If you can stay a week and plan well you can shoot 4 other matches in and around Orlando and Tampa and go to Disney and Universal.

2. Texas is a hotbed of matches and I'll bet they will have some large match during that time period and once again it is a match rich environment so between Dallas and Houston you can shoot a lot during a week. Plus there is NASA to tour near Houston

3. Arizona may also have a major, but once again many other matches around Phoenix are available and there is a lot to do.

The USPSA webpage can link you to the club and larger matches. http://www.uspsa.org/

All three are gun friendly areas so the hassle factor should be low. If you tour Disney in Orlando, pick a local gun shop and they will store your guns for you for a reasonable fee lso you won't have to keep them at the hotel.

Good luck and have fun

Try the Desert Classic (Area 2 Championship) in AZ in November.

This is one cool match.

Alot of GM's live in the area so it gets some pretty big names.

It is usually around 12 stages.

If you come out a week or so early you can shoot Tuesnight Steel. Always a treat.
