lucas
I'm confused why my full length dust cover 40cal SVI slide weighs in at the same as my standard dust cover length 45cal STI slide? Is it differ metals involved?
L9X25
Lucas, I have no idea what the details are on your two particular slides but... If the only difference is the stirrup cut, it is possible that the "cosmetic cuts" that SV often applies could take off enough metal to make them equal. I have never seen an SV factory gun that made it out of the shop without getting some kind of "cosmetic cuts" such as flattening the top and possibly adding lines or one of the multi-angle slide cuts. STI base guns frequently go out with basically "bald" slides (no cosmetic or lightening cuts). Another possibility is that the interchangeable breechface makes the slide slightly lighter, although I doubt it. Leo
Jasonub
svi slides do weigh less than the sti slide if both long dust types. I bought the sti since i thought it will help in reducing recoil. sould have bought the sv since its a moving part

I was under the impression that the interchangable breech face added weight... Luca...did you expect the SVI slight to be lighter or heavier? lucas
The SVI slide is off of full length dust cover gun without stirrup cut and i expected it to have more weight than the STI slide with stirrup cut off of short dust cover gun.The SVI is pre changeable breechface.
