Stresspuppy
I am planning on purchasing a M1 Tactical with PG and ghost ring sights for 3 gun competitions. I have read here many different things and was hoping to get some help on what mods I should consider. Here is what I know, please fill in the blanks: 1) Larger bolt release button/pad. (Necessary? Where to get this?) 2) Fill hole on bolt carrier to allow one on the carrier. 3)..... Also, I have heard many talk about the great quality work Benny Hill does. What things has he done to your gun? Any and all help and input is appreciated!!!

Stresspuppy
Some of the things I plan to do myself. I am not a gunsmith, but I play one on TV!!! Actually, I built my FAL and have done a 1911 or two. Nothing major, more "tuning". But installing bolt release button and doing the underside of the bolt carrier are things I will probably do. I am just trying to find out what other things people do so I can draw a line and say I will do up to here, and I will get Benny to do the rest!!! lucas
Sorry dont have camera. If this helps. Its painted like the AR on his website. He did his magic to get rid of bennelli thumb.I can now load extra round in carrier.Made stock 1.5" shorter with thick and soft as hell pad.It now has a narrow pad or strip of metal starting at the front of receiver crossing over top of bolt release which so far i think i like better than the big head button i have on my practical 1, i was using. He put on 8 round mag tube which is 1-5/8 longer than my 18-1/2 barrel with extended clays briley choke in.Lightened the bolt carrier, and replaced all springs to work with lighter loads, and thats what really impressed me after shooting it at last weeks match for the first time.I was thrilled with how much less recoil using 3dr 1-1/8 load (wallmart economy pack) is compared to what i was using with my other benelli to be reliable.Replaced front sight with hiviz.I'm glad i did that also.I think thats everything. Mickster
Does Benny or anyone ever do a trigger job on the Benelli? The stock trigger on my Field is OK but it does cause me to want to slap at it pretty hard. What about the spring under the button. Does that get clipped or lightened up at all? Mistral404
Benny does great work. So does Beven Gram. You might want to chat with him also. IMHO those two do more for three gun than just about anyone else. JP is a great sponsor of our sport also.
