Montana gold 142 gr fmj, for 38 and 357

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I was wandering if someone could help me out with some starting points for reloading montana gold 142 gr fmj for 38 and 357, using unique or power pistol. None of the reloading manuals I have give recipes for this grain bullet in this caliber. I can not even find anything on the Internet. I have not been reloading very long and never for revolver. In my small amount of time reloading I always stuck to the recipes found in the major publications, I am hesitant to begin working up a load without a starting point.

I appreciate any help that you can give.

Just use data from a similar bullet like a 140 jhp or a 145 grain JHP. Not that big of a deal.

The loads I have good luck shooting my S&W 686 Competition and my 357 Coonan, are using W296 or 2400 and AA#9 all using 16gr. Produces easy to control recoil and great groups.
