Kimberkid
Dear BE.com readers, I am begging for your help. I am at my wits end. I need to find a place online to order basepads for a single stack magazine. I need about 10 black, glue-on type and 5 Blue screw in type. I have checked search engines at Midsouth, Brownells, Dawson, and about 5 other sites and have yet to find any. I know they are made, and for whatever reason they seem to evade me in my search. Anyone with a website where I can buy them will become my new hero, and I will name my firstborn child after you.
rhino
Blue (or any other color but black) is going to be a problem ... You can get black on eBay, but then you have to find some screws too. If you have trouble finding screws, I may be able to spare some. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=3675015721 Ed Brown sells them with screws, but for significantly more $$$. In fact, I think I'm going to buy some more of the pads and sell them in a package with pairs of screws, but for less than Ed Brown et al charge. Kimberkid
Thanks Rhino, I know they made different color ones, but i cant find em for the life of me. I'm trying to to tell the difference between 9 and 10 round .38 Super mags. SRT tells me you were at Wildcat, hope you liked it, hopefully I will see you at the state match at Winimac, welcome to action pistol.
DogmaDog
Wilson Combat sells glue on pads: http://www.wilsoncombat.com/a_base_pads_glueon.asp Ed Brown sells screw on pads: http://www.edbrown.com/cgi-bin/htmlos.cgi/...856771691421417 Chip McCormick sells some basepads (but no description or picture): http://www.chipmccormickcorp.com/merchant2...gory_Code=MCKRP Brownells sells the Wilson and Ed Brown versions, as well as something called Glend Arms "Tactical Edge Base Pads"..."Hard, rubber base pads protect expensive 1911 magazines from scratches and dings and are tactically inconspicuous." Brownells also has CP Bullets base pads (in colors for your Tanfoglio, but only in black for your 1911 ) My search on Brownells was for "1911 base pad" Anyway...I don't know where you'll find blue ones. Possibly two different shapes of black pads will work well enough? Good luck, DogmaDog

rhino
KK ... I doubt if anyone has actually manufactured the screw-on pads for years ... and if they have, it's all been in black. Too bad Denny's Shooting Supply is no longer around ... they always had pink, orange, blue, green ... you name it. You could always use the black pads and just mark them with paint or fingernail polish. Not as elegant as colored pads, but it could work. If you want some black pads with screws, send me some e-mail. Wait! I just found some at Metalform ... they have Lime and Pink in addition to black, complete with screws ... but the price is a little steep. https://www.metalformmagazines.com/Magazine.asp?RID=9 Edited May 4, 2004 by rhino

rhino
Following BigDave's link, it looks like J&J still has them in a nice variety of colors, at a significantly lower price than Metalform. Here they are in blue, red, fluorescent orange & green and black: http://www.jandjproducts.com/JJretail/prod...cookie%5Ftest=

DogmaDog
Well, I guess you don't have to name your kid "Dog" now. I don't know that "Big Rhino Dave" is all that preferable, though. Them pads are cheap, too. DogmaDog
