Roy Dampier
Can anybody advise what may be the "fastest" magazine pouch on the market that meets IDPA approval?
Ron Ankeny
I use the Safariland pouches with the little paddle. Easy on, easy off and easy to adjust. I take the tension screws out, then sand the inside with 1000 grit wet or dry paper, then coat them with silicon spray. This results in a very, very fast pouch. While it is legal, doing so is 100 per cent gamesmanship and might be frowned upon by the purist, but I don't care because I am a gamer. :-)
Duane Thomas
Try the Kydex mag pouches from Blade-Tech. The hard, slick Kydex is very fast. These pouches are totally IDPA legal, as well as appropriate for concealed carry. AAMOF a Blade-Tech double mag pouch for a 1911 is what I carry every day. Deaf Smith
I second Duane. Used a set for over a year. You can roll on it, hit it against poles, let rain get on it, and it works every time. Same with Blade-Tech holsters (In fact, in our club, Fobus works fine to, and many of our guys, being kinda short of funds, fobus is getting real popular. I use a Fobus holster for left handed practice, might get one of their magazine pouches for left handers and try them.) Wonder if Uncle Mikes new holsters and gear in Kydex work good? We have not seen any around here yet. Deaf
Ron Ankeny
FWIW, the new Safariland holders are Kydex too.
Nik Habicht
I can also recommend the Blade-tech magazine pouches. I've been using a pair of single pouches with the Tek-Lok feature for the past six months. I prefer them to the double pouch both because they are easier to position around beltloops and because it's easy to exchange one for a Tek-Lok flashlight holster if you have to shoot a flashlight stage. They are tension screw adjustable for a very fast draw, considerably faster than leather, I think. Bugs Bunny
Wonder how much this has to do with what specific mag it's for? David Elderton's Ky-Tac ones are screw tension adj. and find them extremely fast yet still with very good retention for both CCW & IDPA, etc. http://hometown.aol.com/KYTAC/Mag-Pouches.html Sometimes stocked by http://www.skdtac.com David is at: http://hometown.aol.com/kytac (Edited by Bugs Bunny at 1:13 pm on May 24, 2001)
Steve Moneypenny
I use the Wilson mag pouches, they are $31 a piece, pretty fast ( suade lined kydex) and very durable and weather resistant, i am using single mag pouches by the way, also, i use Uncle Mikes kydex double mag pouch, it works great, i have a bianchi accumold, but it holds on too much. the UM is the cheapes way to go. ( shooting production division you have to have PLENTY of mags.
benos
I ordered some Safailand stuff for a few guys (I'm a dealer but it's on my site yet. Everything on this site: http://holsters.com/ including competition and concealment holsters is 20% off the price advertised on this site (shipping is free). I just have to have a minimum $100 order), and a couple of the big dogs, Arnt M and The Great One, told me this is the hot pouch - the 079, and you can see it here: http://holsters.com/model.php3?model=079 I think this might be the pouch Ron reffered to. ? be
