Shotgun / Rifle round count??

In USPSA 3-gun is there a rule regarding the maximum round count for shotgun, rifle, and pistol for an individual stage?

I think pistol is 32 rounds max, really curious about shotgun and rifle. Trying to figure out how many rounds I need to be carrying.

Yet another issue the 3G Nationals staff is working through. Just because there is a round count limit for pistol, doesn't mean that it does or should apply to 3 Gun. Think about it. If we have a multi-gun stage with all three guns, that's less than 11 rounds per gun. Where is the skill in that? The only one you're worried about is not taking an extra shot in Open shotgun.

I know that the BOD is working hard to work within the framework of both USPSA and IPSC rules frameworks. While I appreciate that, and want to contribute to it, part of me believes that we just make our own set of 3-Gun rules. After all it is OUR Nationals. The rules can be different for each country/region of IPSC.

Now that I'm off my lil' soapbox. In general, you can figure that a shotgun only stage will have around 20-30 rounds. A rifle only stage, probably 25-35 rounds. When you throw multi-gun stages in, things start getting complex. However, somewhere around 30-40 rounds is a good indicator.

For Limited shotgun, have your 8+1, get the 10 round side saddle from Buchanan Bagworks, maybe the 8 round forearm saddle, the 8 round forearm carrier and a couple of 4/6 round trays. For Open, 10+1, 8/10 round side saddle and a tray or two. After that, you'll have Tec-Loaders.

For Rifle. You have 30 in the gun. After that, probably one more will do, but have two mag carriers/pouches in case of standards (hint).

The 32 round limit in pistol is for IPSC, not USPSA.
