Bronco Posted May 31, 2011 Share Posted May 31, 2011 With a DPMS 1 in 10 twist 20" barrel, pushing a 155 SMK (2155) @ 2850 fps using 45.0 gr. Reloader 15, LC brass. Use 43.5 gr. IMR 8208 in LC brass for bolt rifle, sends a 155 Scenar @ 2900 out of a 24" barrel, damn near 3000 out of a 30". Tried 175 SMK, both 155 SMK's, and the 155 Lapua, the 155 SMK (2155) consistently shot the best groups out of my rifle out to 800 yd. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
SHinck82 Posted May 31, 2011 Share Posted May 31, 2011 I'm running an 18' OBR and while I'm not using 155 SMK I have loaded 150 SMK and Hornady 150 FMJBT as well as Berger 155.5 fullbores. My best long long range load is 155.5 fullbores using 44.7gr of IMR 8208 XBR loaded to 2.815 OAL. They are chronoing around 2750fps. If you are looking for something more for 3-gun I suggest the Hornady 150s, they are cheap and accurate I use 44.9gr of reloader 15 loaded to the same OAL and chrono at roughly 2760fps.
