gmg
I have a Kimber custom II that shoots farely well but are after-markets barrels that much more accurate and worth buying especially in this pistol
stardust tommy
a new bushing fitted to your pistol and a good triggerjob will help a lot and are not that expensive... a new (match)barrel fitted bij a gunsmith (he normaly replaces the stock bushing)will also help a lot (= more expensive) a heavy and creepy trigger is hard to shoot accurate, even in an axpensive custom... gr T
okshootist
A good aftermarket barrel that is properly fitted will improve accuracy dramatically. That means an over-sized barrel installed by someone that knows what they doing. A drop-in barrel or new bushing won't do nearly as much, if anything. The barrel has to lock up consistently at both ends and the majority of contact points are on the back end.
gmg
it has a very good trigger job now. it pulls around a crisp 2 pounds
Tom D.
Question to asks is how accurate is the pistol now & are YOU capable of doing better? If the answers are not very & Yes then the answer to your original question is also Yes.
shooter57
Who did the trigger job as they don't come that light from any Manufacture
gmg
No it is not a factory trigger. Trigger job was done by a GM that i shoot with a lot. The trigger is good, but I was wondering if I could improve some accuracy with an after market barrel.
fastarget
Kimber Barrels are not bad, depends on load and bullet weight..............I have put a Kart barrel in my eclipse and that is WOW in the accuracy department. Bench your gun with different ammo and see what it likes first.
BigGabe
What kind of groups are you getting now? Do you have a pet handload you like to shoot? If it's shooting good in your gun now there is a possibility it will be ok with a new barrel. New match barrels generally run from $150 on up. Then they have to be fitted by someone that knows what they are doing. You have to ask yourself if the cost justifies the end result. Allot of times you can very your reloads and make a big difference. I've got a pistol that was grouping 4" at 25 yards of the bench. Changed powders and worked up a different load and now the same gun will do 1 3/4" no problem. Good luck on whatever you decide. Gabe
BigBore56
My Kimber USA Team Match II actually outshoots my Nighthawk Talon 5"...so Kimber must use some decent barrels in their guns. My Kimber Eclipse Target II also shot tight groups after a 200 round breakin. I put a BarSto SS match .40 bbl in my Beretta 96 Vertec and it did make a lot of difference in that gun though.
