luckyshooter1
Well after Finally getting a good load to work and the jam demons excised. Match day is going well, Then Tragedy strikes the hammer pin breaks in half. So here is the Question for the educated audience. How hard is it to replace it with the Henning Pin? I am not in a place where I can buy more then the pin and the reamer. So is it better go back with the factory pin or move up to the Henning hard pin? Any tricks ? tips? thanks for the help. CHA-LEE
What type of hammer pin does your gun have? Is it a solid pin retained by another smaller pin? Or is it a roll pin? If its a roll pin then you can't replace it with a solid pin because there isnt a way to retain it.
luckyshooter1
The Gun is a limited it appears to have the solid pin with the retaining pin. I am not seeing the retaining pin. The Pins left side with the larger head is still intact holding the Hammer in place. It appears to have broke in the middle, the right side appears to be missing. CHA-LEE
The retaining pin should be in front of the larger "head" side of the hammer pin. Its called the "Hammer Pin Pin". The hammer pin is easy to replace and if you are not going to do other trigger work at this time it may be best to simply replace it with a stock hammer pin. If you are doing a trigger job then replace the hammer pin with the upgraded Henning version at the same time. I recommend this because you have to ream out the hammer and frame to get the Henning version of the hammer pin to go in.
luckyshooter1
Thanks CHA-LEE, I was leaning towards the Stock Pin right now. I am thinking I can run a small jewelers file handle or a small round punch in the hole to hold the hammer in position while removing the rest of pin. Then Re insert the new pin, pushing the file out. After I run the gun a bit more I am looking at getting all the new trigger parts and giving that a try. Henning is the Man with the video's detailing everything. Thanks again to you for all of your help and your other post I have read them they have helped me in my quest to get this weapon running 100%.
