tnichols
This has been on my mind for a while and just thought I would throw it out there to see what you guys think. Signed up for a match last year ($100 entry) that was about the size of a Sectional match. Registration form verbige was "Prize Table and Trophies". This match required 5-6 hours of drive time one way, overnight in a hotel, etc... Anyway, I won my Division (Single Stack) and left for home that evening. Figured I was out on the prize table because I wasn't there but thought I would at least get a plaque or trophy later in the mail. Nothing. Emailed the individual that was running the show twice with no response. What would you guys do or how would you feel? We work so hard in practice and spend thousands of dollars on equipment, travel, components, etc... and you get nada. Not trying to be a whiner, just curiuos what your thoughts are. pjb45
There is absolutely nothing wrong with asking! Some people are slow to respond to emails for a variety of reasons. I would try a few more times, then call the individual to get an understanding of the situation. Leaving before the prize table usually means no prize unless you can get someone to walk it for you. A trophy is another story. They should mail it to you.
bluenite
Could be SS did not meet the requirements of Appendix A2, but they should give you a response of some sort.
XRe
Could be SS did not meet the requirements of Appendix A2, but they should give you a response of some sort. This... and you can double check the match results against the Appendix and the match application or advertisement (if they discuss how they'll do prizes or trophies in those documents - most matches do). Realize that, shooting Single Stack, you frequently will not qualify for things at big matches with mixed divisions, because most folks are shooting higher capacity guns Open, Limited, and Production are the big divisions, that way... tnichols
Don't have my rule book handy, it's floating around the house here somewhere. I'll check A2 when I find it. I realize SS isn't one of the premier classes, but if you have 15 guys in a Division at $100 a throw, you would think there would be a little something for the Division winner. My travel partner and I always bolt soon as we're done shooting so we can get on the road and back to our families, so we both know we are gonna' miss the prize table. Thanks for your replies. Coach
If a match advertises something it should deliver. Shirts, prizes whatever.
Flexmoney
What match?? I want to know so I can avoid it! If we get specific, we will have to delete the thread. There are two sides to every story, we live in a small world...and, we don't want Brian's Forum to be a place where people come to complain (soapbox). tnichols
I purposely left out the specifics. It was a good match, good stages, good folks, and good food. I stay away from FFF's (Forum fist fights). Again, thanks for the replies.
