Arkieron
I am looking for a plain black fixed rear sight for my 1911 Colt with a Novak cut. I use this pistol for USPSA. I purchased a Hienie Ultra low mount which is a nice looking sight, but apparently too low to pair with a F.O. front. I installed an old front sight for milling and am still filling for POA. I am down to .160 and still over 3" low POA. I guess I will end up about .140 or even less. I want a normal height sight to end up about .180 on my front which is a Wilson cut. I was looking at Ed Brown fixed or a taller Hienie rear. What ever I get, I will probably try to fit an old front sight to determine height, before I order the front fiber optic. I don't understand why they have so many different front dovetails for 1911s or why a manufacturer wouldn't know the exact front sight height to pair with his rear sight. Any recommendations?
