Chris Jordan
Hey guys, I have a SVI gun with a full length dust cover. Since this is illegal( Glocks have full length dust covers, but NO!) what is the minimum amount that I can cut off to be IDPA legal? Thanks for any info in advance. Cheers, Chris
Flexmoney
Your going to chop off part of your SV to shoot IDPA??? How about I just trade you for a Glock?
EricW
Ditto Flex. With suitable used guns going for $350 - 400, why chop up your SVI? You're going to pay to do something that will kill it's value. Not a good tradeoff. My $.02... Chris Jordan
O.K., Message recieved. No cutting on the SV! I was kinda thinking about a Glock Model 22 anywho so.... Thank you for pointing my ignorance out to me! I will give both of you first right of refusal if it ever comes up for grabs. 8^) Cheers, Chris
benos
Chris, Don't feel bad, I was also considering chopping an old SV to shoot local IDPA matches. It's a bushing barreled gun I only shot at the Steel Challenge and the Bianchi Cup. Since I'm sure I'm over the Cup, and if I do shoot the Challenge again the shortened dust cover would be no disadvantage whatsoever, I was considering taking the hack saw to it. Basically, I never shoot the gun - and it is one awesome gun - a tack-driver. At least I might shoot it if I made legal for IDPA. be
